Officials

We recognize that Officials are essential to the game’s integrity, flow, and competitive spirit. CVA is committed to providing fair, competitive compensation and building an environment where Officials feel supported, valued, and respected. Our goal is to create meaningful opportunities for Officials to work consistently, develop their skills, receive training, and grow alongside the sport.

 

We want every Official who partners with us to know they have a place where they can succeed, improve, and enjoy the experience of being part of the California Volleyball Alliance community.

Below you can sign up to work the CEVA League Tournaments as well as sign up to be part of the California Officials Alliance.

California Volleyball Officials Alliance

This position is an independent contractor role. You will not be classified as an employee, and you’ll be responsible for your own schedule, taxes, and work methods. Compensation will be issued per assignment as agreed.

CVOA Compensation Overview

• Compensation is $150 per tournament round.

• Each round lasts 4 hours.

• Each round includes six (6) matches, covering both pool play and playoffs.

• Matches consist of two sets to 15, straight up, or a 30-minute running clock, whichever ends first.

• Officials are expected to uphold the Championship15 Format to maintain consistent timing and match flow.

• Each site may host up to three rounds per day, providing opportunities for multiple assignments.
